House of Smith Interiors was really born in 2019 from what started as a simple idea: creating a holiday magazine instead of the traditional postcard. My first edition showcased my holiday décor—minimal by my standards today—but it sparked something unexpected. A senior leader that I worked for, loved it, and immediately asked to hire me for several projects in his home.
And just like that, a passion project became a business.
The Journey
From Passion to Platform
I quickly formalized House of Smith Interiors with an LLC, business insurance, and the structure needed to take on client work professionally. One project turned into many—primarily through word of mouth.
That pivot led to the vibrant and growing community I have today—an audience that comes to my platform for home décor ideas, mood board inspiration, family lifestyle content, and authentic storytelling.
Now, as we prepare to move into a new, modern home, House of Smith Interiors (HOSI) is entering its next chapter. From furniture and lighting to textiles, paint, organization, and seasonal décor, I’m excited to bring my audience along for the full transformation.
